The 2018-2019 NFL season has officially kicked-off and we could not be more excited!! Epic plays, game-winning drives, huge defensive stops, team comradery and fan pride are just a few of the things we are excited to see on the field this season.
While the season is beginning on the field, for many players their work off the field is also getting started. Many companies wait to see how athletes perform on the field before they decide who to partner with, which makes these first few weeks of the season even more important.
These first weeks are a chance for the players to make a name for themselves on the field, which can ultimately lead to business for these players off the field. When companies search for players to endorse their company or product, they want a player who will provide them with the greatest reach. Typically, players who perform well on the field and are well known among NFL fans will provide companies with that reach.
When players don't perform well or get injured, their chances of getting these deals becomes unlikely. These deals are important for players to secure, as they provide an opportunity to create lasting relationships with companies. These lasting relationships may then turn into opportunities for players once they cannot play football anymore.
As fans, we may forget there are other factors for players to think about when the season begins. While their main focus is working hard to perform well on the field, these players know a good season can turn into business off the field.
